Downtown Blacksburg provides a world-wide variety of foods with Boudreaux, Boston Beanery, Maxwell's, Vietnam Tea House, India Gardens, El Guadalupe's and Zeppoli's Italian Restaurant, to name a few. Macado's and Bogen's are local favorites for fun and food.

Christiansburg restaurants include: Applebee's, Outback Steakhouse, Kabuki Japanese Steak House, The Summit Restaurant (summit-restaurant.com), The Farmhouse, Red Lobster, Huckleberry Inn and Hunan House and Charlie's for Chinese. These are just a few with new restaurants still being added like O'Charley's and Texas Roadhouse.


If you are looking for a convenient place to hike, bike or skate, the Huckleberry Trail is still being expanded beyond the 5.7 mile section between Blacksburg and Christiansburg. Those with baby strollers or wheelchairs will find this a great place to enjoy the natural beauty along the way.

Springtime festivals include Chateau Morrisette=s Black Dog Jazz Concert Series (visit chateaumorrisette.com), New River Valley Horse show and May Day Tea at Blacksburg?s Smithfield Plantation. 

Summer is the time for the annual Steppin? Out in downtown Blacksburg with the streets filled with live entertainers, great food, crafts, children=s activities and dancing. The New River Valley Fair always draws a crowd from all over the area and you can find the fireworks display of your choice in Blacksburg or Christiansburg. 

Golf courses include the Blacksburg Country Club, Auburn Hills Golf, The River Course, Round Meadow Country Club and others. 

If you enjoy horseback riding, there are local stables with riding lessons offered as well as boarding.
